The star embroideries are a contemporary rendition of the embroidery techniques of the Palung people, where they often embroider patterns off-grid, creating organic and free-flow patterns that are not limited by the weft and the warp grid pattern of the base fabrics.These flower and plant motifs are part of the embroiders’ traditional embroidery patterns taking forms from the greenscape and plantations grown around their homes and community. We translated the Palung's traditional patterns and co-create new patterns onto this pair of trousers!
